Obama's Waterloo?

Unlike most of his presidency, Obama has managed to be bipartisan. (His last budget proposal was bipartisan, too. It was defeated 97-0 in the Democrat-controlled Senate). His disregard for the free exercise of religion, tolerance, the proper role of government and the fundamental principles upon which this country were founded has managed to united a broad swath of strange bedfellows: the USA Today editorial board, over 90% of the Catholic Bishops, the Washington Post, Chris Matthews, EJ Dionne, Mika Brzezinski, Kirsten Powers, 40 something Christian Orthodox Bishops, Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity, National Association of Evangelicals, Focus on the Family, Assemblies of God, Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America, Southern Baptist Convention, Agudath Israel of America, Evangelicals for Social Action, Lanny Davis, American Center for Law & Justice, Peggy Noonan, Eleanor Clift, Joe Scarborough, former Dem Rep. Kathy Dahlkemper, etc.

He's got a tiger by the tail now and there is no "compromise," but retreat.

Harry Reid said:

"Of course it’s not good for the Democrats to go head-to-head against any church, so we certainly don’t intend to do that. But we had a good discussion in our caucus today and the caucus totally supports the president. I do.”

Will their government-provided healthcare be enough to put all of the Humpty-Dumpty Democrats back together again after Obama saws off the branch upon which they have gone way out in support of him when he retreats and throws them under the electric bus?
