Picture of the Day: Forward or Fourwords?

Music (in this case, you might want - language warning) to read by:

(Artistic licence taken)

I don't need your "Forward" way of life
I can't stand your attitudes
I can do without your strife
I don't need your fucking world

Your "Progressive" world brings me down

Gag me with every breath
Your "Forward" world brings me down
I'm looking forward to the death of Progressivism.

It seems so unreal to me

So much hate and so much pity.

Can we get some "Amens"?

Hell yeah!  This is a case where even Atheists can say "Amen!"

Maybe, the campaign can just recycle this old poster from the 1920s -- replacing "To Progress" with "Forward" -- and not have to worry about paying anyone:

Didn't Mao have something similar...Great Leap Forward or sumthin'?  How'd that work out for 70 million Chinese?  (snark)

New Obama Slogan Has Long Ties To Marxism, Socialism

By Victor Morton

The Obama campaign apparently didn't look backwards into history when selecting its new campaign slogan, "Forward" — a word with a long and rich association with European Marxism.

Many Communist and radical publications and entities throughout the 19th and 20th centuries had the name "Forward!" or its foreign cognates. Wikipedia has an entire section called "Forward (generic name of socialist publications)."

"The name Forward carries a special meaning in socialist political terminology. It has been frequently used as a name for socialist, communist and other left-wing newspapers and publications," the online encyclopedia explains.

The slogan "Forward!" reflected the conviction of European Marxists and radicals that their movements reflected the march of history, which would move forward past capitalism and into socialism and communism.

The Obama campaign released its new campaign slogan Monday in a 7-minute video. The title card has simply the word "Forward" with the "O" having the familiar Obama logo from 2008. It will be played at rallies this weekend that mark the Obama re-election campaign's official beginning.

There have been at least two radical-left publications named "Vorwaerts" (the German word for "Forward"). One was the daily newspaper of the Social Democratic Party of Germany whose writers included Friedrich Engels and Leon Trotsky. It still publishes as the organ of Germany's SDP, though that party has changed considerably since World War II. Another was the 1844 biweekly reader of the Communist League. Karl Marx, Engels and Mikhail Bakunin are among the names associated with that publication.

East Germany named its Army soccer club ASK Vorwaerts Berlin (later FC Vorwaerts Frankfort).

Vladimir Lenin founded the publication "Vpered" (the Russian word for "forward") in 1905. Soviet propaganda film-maker Dziga Vertov made a documentary whose title is sometimes translated as "Forward, Soviet" (though also and more literally as "Stride, Soviet").

Conservative critics of the Obama administration have noted numerous ties to radicalism and socialists throughout Mr. Obama's history, from his first political campaign being launched from the living room of two former Weather Underground members, to appointing as green jobs czar Van Jones, a self-described communist.

The name Forward carries a special meaning in socialist political terminology. It has been frequently used as a name for socialist, communist and other leftwing newspapers and publications. For example, Vpered (Russian language for ‘Forward’) was the name of the publication that Lenin started after having resigned from the Iskra editorial board in 1905 after a clash with Georgi Plekhanov and the Mensheviks.

Publications named Forward (in different languages)

Avante!, organ of the Portuguese Communist Party

Avanti!, organ of the Italian Socialist Party

Eteenpäin, Finnish-language newspaper in the United States

Forverts/The Forward, a Yiddish/English newspaper from New York

Új Előre (‘New Forward’), a Hungarian-language newspaper in the United States

Voorwaarts!, organ of the Communist Youth Movement (Netherlands)

Vorwärts, organ of the Social Democratic Party of Germany

Vorwärts!, published from Paris in 1844 and associated with the Communist League

Not even hiding it anymore.

"Forward To Death" lyrics by Dead Kennedys

I don't need your way of life
I can't stand your attitudes
I can do without your strife
I don't need this fucking world
I don't need this fucking world

This world brings me down
Gag with every breath
This world brings me down
I'm looking forward to death

It seems so unreal to me
So much hate and so much pity
I can't take another day
It's such a bore
It gets me really sore
I don't need this fucking world
I don't need this fucking world
This world brings me down
Gag with every breath
This world brings me down
I'm looking forward to death
Looking forward to death

By very definition and premise, "Progressivism" has to "Progress" somewhere. The direction to that somewhere is then duly defined as "Forward." The fact that invariably turns out to be a one way trip into the heart of some sort of hell, goes oddly unnoticed.

A-DAMMITTT-MEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

From the Sex Pistols to the Dead Kennedys! The so-called "organized anarchists" of today could take a lesson in what anarchy is REALLY about! If they would get their heads out or their arses, they would realize that the "progressives" are the ENEMY of what they profess to stand for!(of course, WE know WHO they are and WHO funds them, now don't we?) I've heard that many of the surviving punks are today proud capitalists with NO USE for the "lib/prog" mentality as it has now become "the establishment" and therefore to be despised and derided!

I WANT one of those bumper stickers!

JTGA, most of the original punks came from fairly well-to-do families and even voted Tory. I read the article a few weeks ago. I don't know if you saw it.

Speaking of bumper stickers, I've had a lot of requests about where people can purchase t-shirts and bumper stickers with "FUND YOUR UTOPIA WITHOUT ME™." I'm working on a deal right now with a company in Atlanta. We'll see how it goes. I don't with the processing and shipping. If they'll do that, along with making the stuff, then I am going to open a little store on the site. I'll have other stuff, too.

I'll have to form a 501(c)(3). Hey, if Media Matters can be one, so can I! lol
